Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Location: Greater Houston/ Pearland
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Tech to join our team in Pearland, TX. This role will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties across many trades including plumbing, sheetrock installation, electrical work, cleaning, flooring, painting, carpentry, concrete repair, and more. As a key member of our maintenance team, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of commercial facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment.
- Respond promptly to scheduled and emergency repair requests, including after-hours and weekend emergencies.
- Receive electronic work orders and verbal instructions from the manager.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair various items such as water heaters, faucets, electrical outlets, switches, toilets, urinals, partitions, doors, locks, lighting, shelving, sheetrock, cove base, tile, resinous flooring systems, and more.
- Service all trades except HVAC and roofing.
- Travel to facilities throughout the region and maintain a stock of materials, tools, and equipment on the company vehicle.
- Adhere to safety regulations, maintain clean and orderly work areas, and keep the service vehicle organized.
- Communicate closely with the Service Manager and Coordinators throughout the day.
- Provide before and after photos of all work performed, accompanied by detailed written descriptions and material usage.
- Conduct assessments on work orders for quoting purposes, delivering comprehensive and detailed written descriptions of required work and materials.
- Ensure punctual arrival with a professional and presentable appearance.
- Some out-of-town travel may be required periodically for larger projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in commercial maintenance or construction.
- Proven hands-on/mechanical experience.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, structural, plumbing, and electrical systems with troubleshooting ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills using correct terminology.
- Outstanding organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and take ownership of all tasks.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of hand/power tools; adaptability to new tools.
- Reliable transportation to/from work.
- Availability for a demanding schedule, including long hours, occasional overnight work, and rotating weekends on-call.
- Physical ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
- Reliable smartphone with proficiency in various applications.
- High School diploma/GED or trade school equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
