Overview
As a Strategy Director, you will lead strategic thinking and manage cross-functional project teams across medium sized projects, fostering trusted relationships with senior level clients, and setting the vision for high-quality work. You will guide and mentor strategy talent, shaping methodologies and ensuring that junior team members are supported and developed. As a key escalation point, you will provide leadership to help navigate complex timelines, challenging client dynamics, and solve critical strategic issues. You will also identify, nurture, and expand business opportunities beyond the immediate scope of projects
Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Client Relationships
- Serving as a co-lead on cross-disciplinary teams across 2-3 medium size engagements simultaneously, contributing directly to business viability and excellence of the work.
- Build lasting and trusted relationships with senior level clients, serving as a strategic partner and advisor with the goal of resulting in scope expansion, new workstreams and/or projects.
- Communicate regularly with clients, ensuring alignment between Redscout's vision and the client’s goals and objectives.
- Drive the development and delivery of pitches and proposals, collaborating with Growth to ensure a sharp and strategic approach.
- Identify and proactively drive organic growth opportunities, working with client services partners to convert them into successful business outcomes.
Team Leadership & Development
- Serve as an inspirational leader for the strategy team, ensuring members are motivated, delivering value
- Act as a mentor and direct manager to junior strategists, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them thrive on projects.
- Collaborate closely with client services, growth, and design teams to foster strong cross-functional relationships and successful outcomes.
Business & Operational Leadership
- Respond quickly and collaboratively to operational, personnel, and client challenges, elevating critical issues to the ELT as needed.
- Ensure seamless project resourcing and efficient operational processes across accounts, in alignment with Redscout’s business goals.
Qualifications
- At least 7-10 years of Strategy experience in an agency setting or brand consultancy with a proven track record of growing client relationships.
- Confident presence with senior clients, with the ability to inspire confidence and elevate others in client interactions.
- Composed and effective under pressure, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving timelines, internal dynamics, and client demands.
- Expertise in a wide range of strategic frameworks, qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and the ability to apply them effectively.
- Culturally aware and curious, with a passion for experimenting with new approaches and tools.
- Highly persuasive, with strong storytelling skills that blend visuals and written communication
- Solid understanding of business operations and the ability to collaborate effectively with growth, design, and client services.
- The ability to speak fluently as a Subject Matter Expert to Redscout’s offerings and capabilities across all disciplines during pitches to set us up and contribute to our win rate.
