Qualifications
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversees receiving, storage and shipping of goods
- Inventory organization
- Work under direct supervision of the warehouse manager
- Carryout all product loading and unloading tasks
- Receive and process new inventory, ensuring contents match manifest documents
- Inspect receivables for defects, damages or missing items
- Unload, stack, move, and place product in appropriate designated warehouses
- Move and transfer product between warehouse and shelling plant as needed
- Use forklift, pallet jack, carts to transfer and deliver goods
- Perform a detailed manual inventory counts
- Label warehouse stock for easy identification and retrieval
- Fulfill and track outgoing orders
- Double-Check items to verify accuracy of outgoing orders
- Ensure tools and equipment are kept clean and in working conditions
- Report any equipment malfunctions to maintenance technician
- Follow all warehouse policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Follow safety rules and regulations at all times
- Wear protective clothing and equipment as required
- Operate all tools and machinery safely and efficiently according to company policy
- Work with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to communicate and work with people inside and outside the department
- Good numeracy skills
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork and count stock items
- Good understanding of FIFO or LIFO
- Strong understanding and conscious of safe work practices
- Rigorous attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines and on own initiative
- Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Physical and Mental Demands):
- Entry Level; 1 year minimum of experience in manufacturing; food industry a plus
- Familiar with common warehouse tools and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 30 Lbs.
- Standing and Sitting for long periods of time
- Reaching with hands and arms
- Walking for long periods of time
- Ability to work cold refrigerated environment
- Ability to work in wet or humid conditions
- Work near moving mechanical parts
- Extreme cold
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Ability to pass written and driving forklift exam with 6 months of entry
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Available to work extended hours, and on weekends and public holidays, if required.
