What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager- West Coast position at Stake Center Locating?
Stake Center Locating is recruiting for a Safety Manager to join our team. You will be using your skills to provide overarching safety expertise and support to our Western business unit. This candidate is a forward-facing professional, you will be responsible for establishing a field presence and partnering with local area management. The safety manager will work closely with regional leadership to continuously improve Stake Center Locating safety performance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to the industrial service industry (e.g., DOT, OSHA, etc.).
- Experience working in a geographically diverse service company
- Assist with onboarding new employees
- Conduct prescribed Health and Safety Training for technicians and management
- Assist Stake Center Locating Training team in maintaining training records
- Effectively Communicate company policies and procedures
- Create, review, and update current health and safety policies and procedures
- Maintain internal and external database reporting
- Track key performance indicators for the safety program
- Conduct incident and accident investigations
- Conduct root cause analysis with appropriate corrective and preventative action
- Assist risk management in coordination of care, and immediate responses to incidents and injuries.
- Conduct field safety audits.
- Conduct ride-along auditing to improve and reinforce Stake Center Locating safe drivers’ program.
- Conduct partnered audits, with local management
- Track and monitor at-risk behaviors associated with Stake Center Locating fleet policy.
- Customer service (Monthly)
- Quality audits (Monthly)
- Assist in utility damage investigations (Quarterly)
- Conduct interviews (Quarterly)
- Create and distribute reports (Monthly)
- Compile data reports to identify trends (Monthly)
- Order and distribute PPE (Monthly)
Qualifications:
- College degree
- At least 5 years’ safety experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in driver safety programs
- Ability to speak in public.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office suite.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Dependable and trustworthy
- Will require 50% travel
