The Payroll Administrator’s responsibilities include managing employee data, ensuring the accuracy of timesheets, computing wages, federal, state, and local taxation, and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Role Priorities / Responsibilities
- Managing electronic timekeeping system.
- Prepare and process biweekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Completes employment verifications.
- Regularly review payroll systems to ensure current employee wages, accruals, garnishments, child support, federal, state, and local taxes, etc
- Manage year-end payroll process and reconcile W2s.
- Works/collaborates with the Human Resources department to process new hires according to company policy.
- Monitor payroll inboxes.
- Respond to any errors in payroll by reviewing and making any wage corrections or adjustments as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Participates in special projects that enable the Payroll department to accomplish department and company goals.
- Provides general Payroll support to field office staff.
- Stay current with all laws and regulations regarding payroll, SUI, and wage data.
- Working knowledge of ADP Payroll, Oracle, and UKG.
- Three or more years of experience in a similar position.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and orientation.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
- High school or preparatory school diploma required; college education or degree, preferred, but not required.
