As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities:
Assist in Classroom Instruction:
Collaborate with lead teachers to implement lesson plans and support student learning.
Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students during instructional time.
Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment.
Individualized Support:
Work with students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet their specific goals.
Adapt materials and activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Assist students with daily tasks, including personal care if needed (toileting, medications etc)
Behavioral Support:
Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher.
Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Foster positive relationships with students and encourage social-emotional growth.
Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other team members.
Attend IEP meetings and contribute to student progress discussions as requested.
Participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (additional education preferred).
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively.
