Manufacturing Cost Analyst

The Manufacturing Cost Analyst will be responsible for the costing, pricing and business analysis activities within the corporate finance organization. This role reports to the Global Director of FP&A and works closely with Plant Controllers and other cost accounting staff on a daily basis. The successful candidate will collaborate and work cross-functionally across Sales, Program Management, Operations and IT to implement and manage processes which drive new business growth, cost and profitability controls, and margin optimization. This is a highly visible role within the organization and will support key decisions at the Executive-level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement processes related to cost estimation, business case development, standard costing, and pricing.
- Perform cost estimations for current and future business to include technical bill of material information, operational and overhead cost rates and project-specific costs.
- Manage project cost and controls to include CAPEX, Tooling, cash flow and related OPEX (e.g. start-up costs); handover responsibilities at Start of Production (SOP)
- Drive improvements in costing through margin analysis and standardization of processes and tools.
- Create business cases which provide cost, margin, price and key financial metrics (NPV, IRR, Payback, etc.); analyze unit economics and scenarios for recommendations to management.
- Lead finance offer evaluation process to retrieve approvals needed prior to release to customer.
- Develop pricing models based upon business case analyses and market dynamics.
- Support Sales with requests for quotation (RFQ) packages, market benchmarking, customer cost breakdowns, and cost workshops to ensure cost effective solutions for our customers.
- Lead and coordinate internal activities to gather data inputs from Sales, Sourcing, Engineering, Quality and Operations.
- Perform make vs. buy and other strategic finance analyses, which require advanced financial modeling, detailed business analysis.
- Assist the development of business analytics and business intelligence dashboards which help to automate reporting for corporate finance activities.
- Performs miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Standard Costing and/or Cost Estimation and related Cost Accounting basics a must
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Detail-oriented and organized in work
- Proficiency in all Microsoft products
- Strong SAP and/or JD Edwards ERP skills a plus
- PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau or other BI tools a plus
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Major in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or other Quantitative Field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in areas of financial analysis, cost accounting, financial accounting, marketing or quantitative business field
- Manufacturing and/or corporate finance experience considered a plus

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
