We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Technical Training Web-Based Curriculum Developer to design and produce engaging digital learning experiences for technical training programs. This role is instrumental in enhancing the skillset of technicians through visually dynamic and interactive web-based training (WBT) modules. The ideal candidate has a strong instructional design background, proficiency with digital authoring tools, and a passion for creating impactful learning content within the automotive or technical fields.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement interactive web-based training (WBT) courses using instructional models such as ADDIE.
- Create storyboards and design plans aligned with technical training objectives.
- Ensure all e-learning content is SCORM-compliant and compatible with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Use SCORM authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate Rise to produce interactive learning modules.
- Enhance training content with multimedia elements using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to convert complex technical information into accessible training materials.
- Conduct quality assurance, usability testing, and peer reviews to maintain content quality.
- Adhere to corporate identity standards to ensure branding consistency across all materials.
- Stay informed on industry trends, automotive technology, and best practices in instructional design.
- Manage multiple training projects simultaneously and deliver content on schedule.
- Work closely with global training teams to enhance content consistency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Degree or relevant coursework in web-based curriculum development or instructional design.
- 5 years in web-based training design and development.
- Expertise in instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE).
- Strong technical writing skills, particularly for simplifying automotive concepts.
- Proficient in SCORM and familiar with various LMS platforms.
- Advanced user of Adobe Captivate, Articulate Rise/Storyline, or equivalent tools.
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Experience in technical or automotive training preferred.
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript is a plus.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
- Creative and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
- Portfolio required: Applicants must provide samples of previous e-learning or WBT projects.
Preferred
- Automotive training development experience.
- Familiarity with automotive systems and technologies.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling and animation tools.
- Prior experience working in a new car dealership.
- German language skills.
Requirements
- Periodic travel may be required depending on business needs.
- Must be comfortable working in both an office and automotive repair shop setting.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, handle equipment, and reach with hands/arms.
- Occasionally required to climb, kneel, crouch, or lift/move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in noisy environments and stand for extended periods.
- Vision requirements include close, color, distance, and depth perception.
