Saw Operator

• Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
• Location: Tulsa, OK
• Pay: $18–$20 per hour
• Shift: Friday–Sunday, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM (Training on days Monday–Friday)

Job Responsibilities

• Set up and operate metal-cutting saws (band saws, circular saws, cold saws, etc.) according to job specifications.
• Adjust feed rates, blade speeds, and cutting angles for optimal performance.
• Perform cutting tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine cutting dimensions and tolerances.
• Load, secure, and position metal stock using clamps or fixtures.
• Measure and mark materials prior to cutting to ensure precision and accuracy.
• Inspect cut pieces using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and squares.
• Ensure finished products meet required tolerances and quality standards.
• Identify and report material defects or machine malfunctions.
• Perform routine maintenance on saws, including blade changes and cleaning.
• Follow company safety protocols, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience operating saws in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Familiarity with different types of saws (horizontal/vertical band saws, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Knowledge of metal types and their cutting properties.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable with strong attendance and work ethic.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Capability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and solve simple problems.
• Willingness to work overtime and shift work as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Occasional exposure to hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions.
• Work environment noise level is typically loud.
