Position Summary:

The Director of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the facility, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. In addition to the strategic components, this position will be charged with overseeing daily business activities, improving overall business functions, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement
  • Establish operational goals in support of Company’s strategic plan, communicate goals throughout area of responsibility, track performance against established goals, and mentor staff to acceptable levels of achievement
  • Contributes to the overall growth and development of the company through effective communications with sales and technical groups and provides manufacturing expertise to the successful development of new products and processes
  • Promotes positive labor relations inside and outside the plant by ensuring consistent application of company policies, provides leadership to managers and supervisors
  • Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and management methods to generate improved plant performance and workflow optimization and efficiencies
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the facility, assigning weekly performance goals and assuring their completion, while accomplishing your own goals
  • Ensures facility safety and security procedures and training are in place and that operations are in compliance with all required regulations and corporate directives
  • Organizes project activities that may require internal/external meetings and communications to ensure that project/program are on schedule and within budget
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass all background check and licensing requirements as set forth by state regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain or related field; commensurate experience will be considered
  • 10 years of operations management experience in a manufacturing or production setting
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for effective manufacture and distribution of goods

  • Strong analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to direct, motivate, and develop people resources
  • Ability to use logic and reason to identify problems and evaluate solutions
  • Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc.
