SCOPE OF WORK:
Will assist & monitor the TERO clients, skilled and unskilled, for the purpose of maintaining the Tribal Employment Rights Office Job Skills Bank system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides orientation to clients regarding the rules, regulations, ordinance and internal procedures that govern the Tribal Employment Rights Office.
- Responsible for collecting and recording required information from clients to determine eligibility for training and employment purposes.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining records regarding interests, aptitudes and abilities into the Job Skills Bank for tracking and monitoring purposes.
- Responsible for compiling occupational and vocational information to assist clients in making skill and trade choices that best fit interests.
- Responsible to refer clients to local resources for assistance in areas of need i.e. tribal health & education services, Indian Health Services, chemical prevention services, daycare services, public transportation services, veterans office services, etc.; and maintain and update contact information of the available resources and service providers.
- Responsible to assist applicants in completing the TERO registration process and applications for employment of covered employers planning to work within the boundaries of the reservation
- Responsible for updating data of all TERO clientele demographic information in the Job Skills Bank filing system
- Responsible to maintain and adhere to strict confidentiality requirements regarding client information.
- Maintain positive public relationships with TERO clientele.
- Must adhere to the SRST Personnel Policies & Procedures Manual and Tribal Employees Code of Ethics Manual
- Will go out to the local Districts for monitoring purposes
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a two year degree in office systems and/or (4) years experience in the related field.
- Applicant must be able to understand and carry out both verbal and written instructions and request clarification when needed
- Applicant must possess excellent customer service skills with the general public, including maintaining tact, courtesy and flexibility when dealing with different personalities of clients
- Must be able to efficiently and effectively operate office equipment including computer, Xerox, fax, and telephone
- Must have knowledge of Word and Excel programs
- Must possess a strong work ethic and organizational skills with special attention to detail
- Must have a positive attitude and be innovative
- Applicant must be willing to travel as required
- Must possess a valid driver license and appropriate insurance
- Must meet Federal Minimum Standards of Character for Public Trust positions by passing Tribal, State, Federal background investigation.
- Must sign a confidentiality Statement and understand the penalties for any violations.
