What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Assistant-DER/EPA Department position at Standing Rock Sioux Tribe?
SCOPE OF WORK:
The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is seeking a qualified dependable individual to serve as a Program Assistant to the Tribal EPA/DER Program. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Programs with the duties including, but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with records of Environmental Contracts expenses and cuff accounts. (This will include cuff accounts for all EPA and EQSS program and assist with budget modifications, etc.)
- Assist with paying all bills for the contracts; do purchase orders, ordering supplies, in a timely manner, etc.
- Perform general office duties, answering phones, taking messages, schedule meetings, travel scheduling, typing of letter, requests and office correspondences picking up and distributing mail
- Establish a filing system for contract and office correspondences.
- Assist with maintaining an up to date inventory of all equipment and supplies for the office.
- Assist with record and information management system to file all data relevant to the environmental regulations.
- Work in a professional and courteous manner with the public and respond to questions the general public may have.
- Work closely with Program Coordinators and Director and funding agencies.
- Records and maintain meeting minutes for Director
- Schedule maintenance of department’s equipments (Pickup, Licenses, insurance routine maintenance of copy machines, etc).
- Other duties as assigned/needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A (2) two-year degree is preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office.
- Must be c knowledgeable in maintaining program cuff accounts.
- Must have excellent public relations skills, be courteous and be able to work in a professional manner, while interacting with the public and work well with other staff, and members of the districts and community.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and complete objectives with limited daily supervision.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

No Tribal housing is available. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the EPA/DER Director. The position is located at the EPA/DER Building in Fort Yates, ND.
