Schedule: Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday 10 hours shifts
Standley Batch Systems is looking to hire a reliable, detail-oriented CNC Operator for their
growing team. Successful candidates will be team players and have experience with
operating CNC equipment.
Job Summary:
The CNC Operator/Welder will produce structural steel by setting up and operating a CNC, Angle Line,
Beamline Plasma Table; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining
equipment and supplies.
When not operating the CNC machine, this position may be responsible for welding or other
task. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have experience in welding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces during production machining.
- Set up tooling, fixturing and inspection equipment required for part types in the production group.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform maintenance duties.
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Use an overhead crane to move steel
- Properly handle rig steel
- Unload steel trucks with overhead crane or forklifts
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
- Ability to read and understand dimensions on part drawings.
- Experience with welding preferred but not required
- Experience operating Pedinghaus CNC machines preferred and Plasma/Oxyfuel Cutting tables.
Required Experience/Qualifications of CNC Operators:
- Safety Conscious
- Self Motivated
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
- Good attendance record
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary
