What are the responsibilities and job description for the PAL Recreation Leader position at Stanislaus County Police Activities League?
Starting Hourly Wage: $16.50-$19.00/Hr. DOE
Hours: Part-time position (Approximately 21- 30 hours per week depending on assignment, Monday- Friday)
Department/Program: Operations/Recreation
Supervisor: Reports to Site Supervisor and/or Field Supervisor.
Stanislaus County Police Activities League personnel are employed on an at-will basis.
Employment at-will may be terminated with or without cause and with or without notice at any
time by the employee or Stanislaus County Police Activities League.
Definition
The incumbent shall work well under pressure; meet multiple and sometimes competing
deadlines. The incumbent shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues
and supervisors.
Under the supervision of Site Lead/Coordinator and/or Field Supervisor, to act as park or school
facility Recreation Leader for the implementation of an after school program, including meeting
program objectives and participating in program activities.
Examples of Duties- Under the direction of the Site Lead/Coordinator and/or Field Supervisor,
duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
A. Follow Stanislaus County PAL/School District policies and procedures.
B. Implement all daily activities of an after school program as assigned, including carrying out program schedule, participating in all program activities, monitoring and enforcing rules and regulations, maintaining a safe environment, completing and collecting any necessary paperwork.
C. Assist Site Manager/Field Supervisor in carrying out program objectives and collecting relevant data.
D. Create weekly program lessons to implement daily.
E. Assist in implementing school rules and procedures.
F. Instructs youth in rules, models appropriate behavior, strict adherence and enforces rules.
G. Exercise sound judgment in addressing behavior problems.
H. Maintains appropriate customer service at all times.
I. Exhibits enthusiasm for the program.
J. Ensure facility and equipment is in a safe condition.
K. Maintain and submit reports and records as required.
L. Issue and control equipment and supplies.
M. Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
N. Perform custodial maintenance tasks when required.
O. Travel and substitute at other program facilities when required.
P. Other related duties as assigned.
Q. Follow all Stanislaus County PAL & School District COVID protocols on a daily basis.

1. Must have previous experience working with recreation programs involving
youth.
B. Knowledge Of:
1. Basic management & discipline of children from ages 6 through 17.
2. Principles and techniques used in developing a variety of recreational/educational programs.
3. Sports, crafts and a variety of recreation activities.
4. Proper supervision techniques.
5. Practices and techniques to achieve a favorable public relations and appearance that projects a positive image.
6. Light custodial maintenance techniques.
7. First Aid methods and procedures.

Salary : $17 - $19
