WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
TECH 1:
- Maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing injection molds
- Participating in process improvement initiatives
- Setting up and operating manual machines
- Disassembling, cleaning and reassembling injection molds successfully and in a timely manner
- Recognizing and assessing obvious damage
- Minor polishing
- Offloading and loading all tooling by forklift or crane
- Controlling documentation and distributing to the coordinator
- Representing the department by behaving in a positive manner
- Working overtime when requested
- Supporting safety and ISO programs
TECH 2:
- Fulfilling all duties of technician 1 position
- Recognizing damage from part or tool evaluation
- Performing basic repairs with the aid of hand and basic machine tools
- Performing basic die spot disciplines
TECH 3:
- Fulfilling all duties of technician 1 and 2 positions
- Performing all assigned duties with moderate supervision
- Performing complex repairs with the aid of hand and basic machine tools
- Interpreting and making basic components from print
TECH 4:
- Fulfilling all duties of technician 1 - 3 positions
- Performing all assigned duties without supervision
- Skillfully interpreting of mold and manifold prints
- Providing leadership and/or mentoring lower-level technicians
- Prioritizing and performing multiple tasks
- Making complex components from print
- Polishing up to class A1 diamond surface
TECH 5:
- Fulfills all duties of technician 1 - 4 positions
- Proficiently programming and operating tool room equipment
- Completing complex repairs, design changes or new builds. Evaluating, planning and completing all aspects of the job with no assistance. This plan may involve the outsourcing of some tasks, but the plan must be directed by the technician in a timely manner
- Leading projects from start to finish with ability to direct and mature supporting staff
- Designing and fabricating jigs, fixtures and gauges
- Other tasks as assigned by management, including training of associates, supervision, and working unscheduled hours
- Showing initiative with the ability to move company goals forward without direction

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:
TECH 1:
- High School education or GED
- Valid driver’s License
- Forklift certification
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Familiar with and the use of basic hand tools
- Basic understanding of the metric measuring system
- Must communicate proficiently in English (verbally and written)
- Must be cooperative and work well in a team environment
- Able to walk or stand for 2 hours at a time for up to 10 hours
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
TECH 2:
- See Tech 1
- 1 year technician 1 experience or its equivalent
- Clear understanding of metric measuring system
- Demonstrate a basic welding ability
- Basic understanding and use of multimeter to check electronic components
- Able to polish up to class "A" surface with minimal supervision
- Able to perform all assigned duties with moderate supervision
- Basic knowledge of and ability to operate manual machine tools
TECH 3:
- See Tech 1 and 2 above
- 1 year as technician 3- or 8-years mold making experience
- Proficient in operation of complex machine tools
- Demonstrate a high level of welding skills
- Thorough understanding and use of multimeter to check electronic components
- Polish up to class "A" surface
TECH 4:
- See Tech 1 – 3 above
- 1 year experience as a Technician III or 8 years mold making experience
- Proactive attitude towards achieving company goals regardless of shift or situation
TECH 5:
- See Tech 1-4 above
- Proven mechanical aptitude with understanding of dimensional mathematics
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- Proficient in CAD/CAM
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- General Office Environment (1) hour per day
- Manufacturing Environment (7) hours per day
- Occasional overnight travel may be required to perform essential functions at remote locations or receive training.
- Required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet customer deadlines and requirements.
HAZARDS:
- While performing the job the position is frequently exposed to moving or mechanical parts.
- Moderate noise levels with specific areas required to wear hearing protection.
