JOB SUMMARYThe Library Assistant will be responsible for operating the Stansbury Park Library. The Assistant will be required to report monthly to the Library Board and maintain communication with the Utah State Library Division.The Library Assistant shall be committed to the mission, vision, and values of Stansbury Service Agency and demonstrate such through ethical conduct, community stewardship, individual initiative, and responsive service.SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPSReports to the General Manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReport monthly to the Library BoardOversee library volunteersHold weekly children's story timesOrganize community events and take on a supervisory roleCollect, organize, and disseminate data to the appropriate agenciesAttend local and state training eventsWrite yearly grantsOrganize and implement the summer reading program with the help of volunteersOther duties as assignedSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSAbility to walk, bend, stoop or squat, and climb stairsLift up to 40 poundsAbility to communicate verbally and in writingKnowledge of word processing and spreadsheet softwareMust be at least 18 years old and have a GED or higher (a degree in Library Science is a bonus)Knowledge of cataloging systems is a bonusWORKING SCHEDULEThe work schedule is M-F, 20-25 hours a week.Starting wage is $15 / hr.WORKING CONDITIONSModerate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.Stansbury Service Agency is an equal opportunity employer without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, disability, genetic information, sex, or age.
