About us
Stanwood Cooperative Preschool (SCP) is seeking a loving and dedicated early childhood educator to join our program. We believe that children learn best through play! Our teachers and caregivers work together to provide a supportive, learning-rich environment for our preschoolers and their families. Parent involvement and a dynamic classroom teacher are key to the success of our program. Our school year runs September through May and follows the Stanwood-Camano School District’s calendar for holidays and closures.
Our organization is seeking a preschool teacher that is energetic and nurturing. Our teachers work together to develop activities, implement learning tools and help with academic planning. Position will finish this school year, with the plan of continuing for the next school year.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our school’s other staff to implement monthly themes, share classroom space and supplies.
- Implement our developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum, that inspires interest and questions.
- Communicate with members and other cooperative teachers in a supportive and caring way.
- Lead class and coordinate working members; serve as a model for best practice interactions with young children.
- Participate in activities with the children during class time.
- Utilize positive guidance techniques.
- Attend board and members meetings, typically from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, twice a month.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education OR working towards ECE Certificate
- Prior experience in early childhood education and teaching preschool (experience in co-op setting preferred)
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification required before employment
- Must pass background check
- Participate in additional cooperative activities, special events and class preparation as needed

Classes run:
Monday and Friday 10:00am – 12:00pm
-Prep / Staff meetings:
Monday 8:00am - 9:45am
Board Meeting - second Monday 6-8pm
Member Meeting - fourth Monday 6-7:30pm
-This is a part-time position for approximately 10-20 hours per week.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour
