We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of materials, goods, and services necessary for our operations. You will work closely with vendors, internal departments, and suppliers to ensure that purchasing activities align with our company’s needs, quality standards, and budget constraints.
Hourly Rate: $28
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
Coordinate the purchasing process for materials, products, and supplies based on business needs. Review and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.Vendor Relations:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Communicate regularly with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, resolve issues, and negotiate pricing and terms.Inventory Control:
Monitor inventory levels to ensure that stock levels are adequate and make purchasing decisions to replenish inventory in a timely manner. Coordinate with the warehouse and production teams to prevent shortages or excess inventory.Order Tracking:
Track the status of purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any discrepancies or delays. Keep internal teams informed about order status, expected delivery dates, and any issues that may arise.Cost Management:
Work with the finance and accounting departments to monitor purchasing budgets and ensure that purchases remain within budget. Analyze pricing trends and recommend cost-saving measures.Vendor Evaluation and Reporting:
Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and timeliness of deliveries. Prepare reports on purchasing activities, including order volumes, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.Documentation and Compliance:
Ensure all purchasing activities are properly documented, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and receipts. Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work closely with various departments, such as production, warehouse, and finance, to understand purchasing needs, manage inventory, and ensure seamless operations.Market Research:
Stay up to date with market trends and product developments. Continuously research suppliers, new products, and industry best practices to improve the efficiency of the purchasing process.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing practices, inventory management, and supplier relations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.); experience with purchasing software or ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
