Overview: The Grant Writer and Donor Relations Manager will be responsible for fund development which will include identifying and managing opportunities for grant proposals; corporate gifts; identification, cultivation, solicitation, growth and stewardship of donor relationships and charitable giving.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in business or marketing or related field required. Three years of experience in grant writing and donor solicitations. Proven track record in successful grant solicitation for non-profits. An established network of businesses and partners within Washington County. Or any equivalent combination or education and experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements of the insurance carrier. This position requires the availability for flexible work schedules including some evening and weekend hours. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and the ability to speak and write proficiently in English is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and publishing software is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Successfully understand and communicate Star’s mission, vision, history, programs and financial needs in grant writing, and fundraising efforts to include presentations to donors.
- Research, identify and write high-quality, coherent, organized and compelling grant proposals/narratives. Responsible to reach annual goals for money awarded through grants.
- Develop, implement and evaluate Star’s annual fundraising plan that incorporates grant proposals, corporate sponsorships and donor gifts.
- Track, create and prioritize grant opportunities calendar and submitted applications
- Collaborate with team members to assist with fundraising projects and develop relationships with leadership and staff.
- Expand relationships with external constituents.
- Lead presentations to potential sponsors/donors as appropriate.
- Write and prepare donor solicitations and campaign materials, and correspondence related to development activities. Must meet annual goals for donorship and contributions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community and business leaders, donors and prospects.
- Manage logistics for meetings with donors and community members including scheduling, material and presentation preparation, sharing information, room set up and clean up, note taking and reporting back to Executive Director.
- Research, share and recommend best practices and up to date legal changes in the area of donor funds, planning giving, donor outreach and engagement, and donor data management.
- Support outreach and communications to donor and sponsors in collaboration with the Marketing and Events Manager for fundraising events.
- Coordinate with Finance on gift, sponsorship or donation processing.
- Assist with maintaining database by ensuring all information is current and accurate.
- Engage in community civic and service organizations as a representative of Star.
- Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgment of all donations and grants.
- Regularly participate in professional development conferences, activities and associations.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
