What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Intervention Teacher, East Bethel position at Star of the North Academy?
Star of the North Academy (SNA), a K-8 public charter school, is seeking a fulltime Math intervention teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
Interested candidates should have a background in or familiarity with standards-based and data-driven instruction, as well as backwards design. Candidates must hold a valid Minnesota teaching license.
Sample Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Using MN State Standards/Benchmarks to write rigorous lesson plans at grade level, differentiating based on students’ levels when appropriate
- Providing material as a supplement to the curriculum for ELA, math, science, and social studies
- Creating individualized goals for students and tracking achievement, adjusting instruction as needed
- Establishing and maintaining a positive classroom culture that contributes to the overall school culture, which promotes high academic achievement and a strong sense of community
- Communicating with parents on a regular basis (ex: conferences, phone calls) to keep them informed of their child’s progress
- Effectively and respectfully collaborating with teachers in other grade levels and positions as well as administration to ensure all staff and students have what they need to be successful
