JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Specialist REPORTS TO: Supervisor
EXEMPT: No DEPARTMENT: PAR
Pacific Ag Rentals (“PAR”) is a “farmer-owned” tractor rental company headquartered in Salinas, CA. PAR is growing exponentially and continues to expand its geographic territory. The Accounts Receivable/Payable Manager is responsible for managing the A/R and A/P functions of the company to ensure compliance with internal controls & accounting policies.
Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling statements of accounts, and assisting with the weekly payment run. This role is crucial to ensuring the accuracy and timely payment of vendor accounts and maintaining strong financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment in accordance with company policies.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile statements of accounts to ensure that all invoices and payments are accurately recorded and up-to-date.
- Payment Assistance: Assist in preparing and processing weekly payment runs, ensuring timely payments to vendors.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and files, including supporting documentation.
- Vendor Communication: Liaise with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies or issues.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Payroll Processing: Assist the Payroll Specialist in the processing of the bi-weekly payroll. Will also serve as a backup to the Payroll Specialist.
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Support the accounting team with any other tasks related to accounts payable and financial reporting.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an accounts payable or accounting role (1-2 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
