What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Clerk position at Star Valley Health?
Summary
Medical Records is responsible for the tracking and upkeep of all medical records with in Star Valley Health. Daily duties include but are not limited to filing records, making copies per patient’s requests, assisting physicians find records. This is an at will position.
Job Duties
- Maintain medical record functions through pulling, copying/scanning, filing, assembling and retrieving patient records.
- Responds to releases for requests of medical information timely.
- Completes incoming correspondence requests for medical record information according to Federal/State law.
- Completes Birth Certificates according to state regulations.
- Tracks and maintains medical record charts to comply with CAH regulations.
- Cross trains to assist with workloads and perform other duties as assigned or identified.
- Attends meetings as scheduled and assigned.
- Comply with HIPPA and other federal, state, and local regulations as well as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in client and staff matters.
Requirements
Abilities & Skills:
- Multi-task with extreme attention to detail
- Strong customer service
- Self-motivated
- Proficient computer skills in Excel, Outlook, Microsoft word, and general internet usage
- Able to work individually and as a team player
- Utilize a computer for data input, retrieval of data, and running reports
- Physical demands, some reaching, bending sitting, and prolonged standing. Some lifting up to 25 lbs.
Experience & Education:
- General office and computer
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Experience with Meditech

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.20 - $24.30 per hour
