We are seeking a talented IT Support Specialist to join our team and contribute to the smooth operation of our technology infrastructure.

About You

The Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the network infrastructure, as well as helping all others in the organization with IT-related problems. Teamwork is key at STAR7, so the IT Support Specialist must be able to work with all members of the team - supporting sales, accounting, translators, proofreaders, project management, and vendors. The position is a multifaceted position, requiring the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

Job Responsibilities:

System Administration:

  • Manage and maintain our server infrastructure, including hardware and software.
  • Monitor server space usage and perform server space cleanup with each team lead.
  • Manage the current remote desktop setup for users and manage and address/resolve issues as needed.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect our systems and data. Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Maintain IT asset list in conjunction with the accounting department.
  • Network Administration:
  • Configure and maintain our network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and optimize network performance.
  • Implement network security protocols to safeguard our systems.
  • Manage any recertification required for the maintenance of our current network infrastructure setup.

Software Support:

  • Install, configure, and maintain various software applications, including translation tools, project management software, and productivity tools. Keep an active list of all software currently in use by team/user.
  • Provide technical support to users, resolving software-related issues.
  • Stay up to date with the latest software trends and technologies.
  • Research and purchase software as requested by the team or our clients. Work with the teams to install and properly set up any new software.

IT Security:

  • Manage any client IT security assessments alongside project/team leads.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Maintain all IT Security related documentation up to date on a quarterly basis.
  • Implement security best practices to protect sensitive information.
  • Respond to security incidents and implement corrective actions.

IT Projects:

  • Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades, network expansions, and software implementations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in system administration, network administration, and IT support.
  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
  • Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with security best practices and tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Translation industry
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Certifications in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA A , Network , Security ).

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week
