What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Analyst position at Starboard Group?
Maintain all aspects of capital expenditures accounting and reporting, accounting operations with an emphasis in general ledger, analysis, month/quarter/year-end close, and audit. This is a very hands-on role that will work closely with other departments within a dynamic environment. This position is also responsible for maintaining and vendor and banking cards in Navision and verifying banking information with third parties.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Physical Demands:
Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.

What You’ll Be Doing:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipboard Payroll:
- Process Shipboard payroll manual entries from HR
- Process Shipboard payroll approved entries from our Ops team
- Review requests from shipboard
- Work with Voyage reconciliation team to make sure all commissions and wages are booked prior to processing the payroll
- Ensure payroll is processed timely and accurate
- Review fixed asset purchase requests and invoices
- Interact with cross functional business partners on Capex accounting
- Keeps track of invoices to date by Capex project
- Prepares billing to Cruise lines/Vendors for Capex
- Prepares Monthly Reconciliations of assigned Balance Sheet accounts
- Participates in the budgeting and forecasting process and performs financial analysis as needed
- Analyze and review financial information for accuracy
- Prepare special projects as assigned
- Assist with the monthly general ledger closing processes and procedures
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts
- Prepare monthly inter-company reconciliation
- Create and Maintain Vendor Master File
- Responsible for validating domestic bank accounts using GIACT
- Responsible for calling vendors to validate banking information, as needed
- Prepare year-end audit and tax-packages
- Proactively reports issues, makes recommendations for resolution and take appropriate initiative/actions

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance /Accounting or 2-3 years equivalent work experience
- Professionalism and ability to adapt to diversity
