StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full time Accreditation Specialist / Executive Assistant to join a strong multi-disciplinary team to provide mental health assessment, diagnosis, and intervention at Sunrise Canyon Hospital, a 30-bed Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall guidance and support to ensure that clinical services are provided in accordance with standards established through state and federal regulations and the Joint Commission accreditation standards.
- Serve as the organizations liaison for Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies focused on clinical care and patient safety.
- Provide support through collaboration with organizational leadership and staff for activities related to accreditation and regulatory affairs, patient safety, and performance improvement.
- Communicate requirements and standards in a timely manner to Hospital Leadership Team.
- Translate standards, requirements and policies into terms or processes meaningful to the hospital.
- Provide consultation to relevant task forces and quality action committees to ensure ongoing compliance with standards.
- Provide a variety of administrative support to hospital leadership.
- Coordinate, attend, and provide follow up hospital committee meetings.
- Develop and maintain and electronic record keeping/filing system for department records.
- Provide overall guidance for staff physician privileging process.
- Serve as the organizations liaison/coordinator for Texas Tech University (TTU) residents and medical student rotations.
- Prepare complex and concise reports.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Organize and prioritize a variety of assignments and manage time effectively.
- Follow brief oral and written instructions.
Essential Duties:
- Develop, initiate, maintain, revise, and distribute hospital policies and procedures and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Responsible for ensuring the most current information is available for accreditation and licensing.
- Maintains all licenses (TDH, CLIA, DEA, pharmacy, etc.) following appropriate licensing criteria, to ensure licenses are valid and up to date.
- Serve as the hospital liaison for compliance with applicable Joint Commission, state, and federal standards to ensure compliance standards are correctly interpreted and are being met.
- Communicates requirements and standards to the hospital leadership, following appropriate standards and/or guidelines to ensure compliance with required standards.
- Provide privileging oversight for granting, revising, and privileging of hospital practitioners/extenders, TTU residents, tele-medicine providers in conjunction with the Credentialing Department to ensure qualified personnel are staffing the hospital inpatient unit.
- Provide Notary Public Service, following appropriate notary laws and guidelines, to ensure efficient hospital operations.
- Communicates information verbally or in writing to supervisor and other organization employees to ensure the exchange of information and provide for the success of the hospital.
- Assists hospital administration with special assignments and projects to ensure the success of the organization.
- Works closely with SRCH leadership to provide information and guidance on our current and future practice.
- Develops online information tracking systems to ensure auditing compliance.
- Works effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Schedule: This is a full-time/non-exempt position scheduled Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with flexibility to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in health administration or related field with 2 years hospital administrative work preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and policy formulation.
- Knowledge and skills in operating standard office equipment.
- Must possess excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Smartsheets, PowerPoint).
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR.
- Must have a Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
