Position Overview:
As the Controller, you will oversee the financial management of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial operations and reporting. You will play a critical role in the development and execution of financial strategies, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the efficient management of accounting and finance processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, reporting, and auditing.
- Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate and lead financial audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external requirements.
- Develop and implement financial strategies and policies to support company objectives and growth.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk, including developing strategies to optimize liquidity and profitability.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance environment and providing professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and procurement, to align financial goals with business strategies.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with government contracts and regulations, particularly those related to defense and aerospace manufacturing.
- Implement and maintain robust accounting software systems (SAP experience is a plus), ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting.
Qualifications:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) required.
- MBA (Master of Business Administration) required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on defense/aerospace manufacturing or related industries.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance within the aerospace and defense sectors.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with senior leadership and other departments.
- Experience with government contracting and compliance (FARS, DFARS, CAS, etc.) required.
