Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures within the facility, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, diagnose issues, and provide effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components, including lighting, wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, and electrical panels.
- Respond to emergency electrical issues and perform urgent repairs to ensure safety and operational continuity.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations and report findings, recommending improvements or repairs when necessary.
- Collaborate with facility management to implement energy-saving initiatives and ensure optimal performance of electrical systems.
- Install and test new electrical systems, equipment, and machinery as required by facility needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations to ensure all work complies with federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities in accordance with company policies.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, and other facility systems when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a licensed electrician.
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance and electrical work, with a solid understanding of electrical systems and components.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and climbing ladders.
- Basic knowledge of other facility systems such as HVAC and plumbing is a plus.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an apprenticeship or electrical trade school preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an electrician, preferably in a facilities or industrial setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (temperature fluctuations, outdoor work, etc.).
