What are the responsibilities and job description for the Architectural & Planning Associate position at Stark Enterprises?
To Assist the Development team with design and construction activities, supporting the Director of Planning & Design and the VP of Development on new development projects. This position also involves coordinating with departments such as Legal, Construction, Operations, and Marketing.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- AutoCAD experience required for the creation of conceptual design plans, conceptual site plans, and Lease Outline Drawings (LOD) (as needed).
- Coordinates with external teams (architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists) to deliver project goals to ensure assigned projects meet deadlines and budget.
- Review consultant drawing sets and coordinate plans between design teams(s) and municipal authorities, civil, and clients.
- Maintain companys electronic filing of drawings/prototypes
- Assist in due diligence tasks such as preliminary zoning and code analysis for various municipalities of existing and potential properties. Read, interpret and convey building codes, zoning codes, and ordinances with the assistance of consultants.
- Understand and manage various municipalities permitting process from submittal to final permit approvals.
- Interface with owner/management regarding project schedules and meetings. Communicate updates/issues with internal team and leadership
- Assist in the creation of operational procedures and criteria.
- Assist in Owners Representation responsibilities such as: field survey of existing conditions, construction observation or as otherwise directed.
- Collaborate with internal team on design changes and prepare necessary design documents, such as models and renderings, for marketing purposes and owner/leadership review and approval.
- Attend meetings during both predevelopment and construction phases.
- Manage Interior/FF&E design, procurement, and budget.
- Collaborate with internal development team and any other departments integral to the project
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- BS Architecture; or equivalent.
- Experience with the development or redevelopment of retail/commercial/residential properties a plus.
- Knowledge of basic building design and systems and fundamental building permit procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in reading construction documents and specification manuals.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with project planning, oversight, and collaboration.
