Starkey Hearing is hiring a Communications Specialist at our Global Headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. In this role, you will focus on writing and storytelling across a variety of platforms, including public and media relations, award submissions, social media content, internal and external email communications, and event activations. As a Communications Specialist at Starkey, you will collaborate closely with the Communications Manager to execute strategies that align with Starkey's mission of helping the world to hear better.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS (List responsibilities in order of importance or where majority of time is spent, starting with the most important/majority. Exclude responsibilities that are marginal, which are included in "other duties/responsibilities as assigned.")
- Provide support of public relations activities for professional and consumer audiences
- Work with the Communications Manager to integrate communication strategies across public relations, internal, online and social media channels
- Identify compelling stories to increase brand awareness
- Write and distribute targeted press materials to trade and consumer media
- Lead Starkey's awards program
- Research and write nominations for key product, executive and company awards
- Create campaigns to promote placement
- Provide social media support to communications and events teams
- Write, edit social posts when needed
- Capture content as needed
- Collaborate with other Communications professionals on implementation
- Plan and execute external and internal communications campaigns
- Write for intranet and emails
- Support posting and distribution strategies
- Provide proofreading support for all marketing materials as needed
- Proofread as needed
- Provide support to Marketing Proofreader when needed
- Event support as needed
- Capture and curate content for internal and external events
Requirements
- Education
- 4-year college degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field
- Experience
- 2 years of experience in Public Relations, Communications or Marketing required. Hearing industry experience preferred. Agency experience preferred.
Knowledge / Technical Requirements
- Knowledge of computer tools required
- Knowledge of media databases and media monitoring tools preferred
Competencies, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English required
- Willingness to immerse in hearing aid industry
- Team player
- Ability to organize and execute plans efficiently
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $56,210 - $70,000/ year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
