What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Crew-Seasonal position at Starlight Theatre?
Starlight is gearing up for new shows and events and we are looking for energetic and hard-working "Stars" to join our Operations team and Facilities crew!
The Facilities crew is responsible for the daily operation and physical appearance of Starlight Theatre, for restoring the venue to tip-top shape after events, setting the facility for the next event, and day-to-day maintenance.
This role is primarily an outdoor job with a variable workweek schedule of three to four days per week, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but these hours may vary depending on weather, events, holidays, and other factors. (Maximum 32 hours per week).
Required Accountabilities & Deliverables:
- Embraces Starlight’s mission, vision, and values.
- Preventative and routine maintenance, including plumbing, light carpentry, small engines, painting, small repairs, etc.
- Waste and recycling collection and disposal.
- Restroom and general facility cleaning, including power washing, mopping, scrubbing, hosing down the seating bowl with a high-pressure hose, sanitizing, stocking, and cleaning chemical use.
- Event setup and breakdown.
- Inspection of venue equipment.
- Manage supply inventory.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Able to work independently and as part of a small but critically important team.
- Must be self-motivated and flexible.
- A problem-solver.
- Ability to work early mornings, days, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Strong time management skills.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:
- General maintenance and janitorial skills.
- Knowledge of show sets (setting tables, chairs, pipe and drape, etc.) is helpful but not required.
Other Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to use ladders up to 30 ft. and work comfortably at heights exceeding 25 ft.
- May need to crawl, crouch, balance, stoop, kneel, or stand for long periods.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
