Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Help Desk Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working the Help Desk (break/fix) items as they arrive via email, text message, and phone. Our clientele IT infrastructure is as diverse as each client. This role requires a winning personality with strong customer service values, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and excellent communication skills to assist users with various technical issues. This position is designed to grow into the next proficiency level.
Duties
- Provide technical support for hardware and software issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems.
- Manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory.
- Configure and maintain VPN connections for remote users.
- Implement and manage firewall configurations to protect the organization's data.
- Utilize ticketing software for support requests.
- Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software solutions.
- Conduct regular maintenance on systems, ensuring all updates are applied timely.
- Collaborate with team members to improve IT processes and enhance service delivery.
- Maintain internal and clientele documentation.
- Maintain time entries per client in real time.
Skills
- At least two years in a similar or same role (recent).
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Apple operating systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of network administration principles.
- Experience in software troubleshooting across various platforms.
- Familiarity with help desk operations and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively assist users with technical issues.
- Knowledge of firewall management to ensure secure network environments.
