What are the responsibilities and job description for the CENTRAL SUPPLIES position at Starr County Nursing and Transitional Care?
Primary Responsibilities
The Central Supply Clerk is responsible for keeping the facility supplied with medical supplies and capital equipment. This position will receive and distribute supplies throughout the facility and assist other departments as needed.
Essential Functions
- Inventory the Medicare A and B supply closets daily and resupply as needed
- Inventory the satellite supply closets daily and resupply as needed
- Inventory the main supply closet weekly and re-supply weekly
- Prepare Part B billing to Concept billing
- Maintain monthly budget for supplies
- Unpack and check supplies upon receipt and reports discrepancies to department that ordered supplies
- Retrieve requisitions from department heads, fills orders, and delivers to requesting department
- Pack supplies which need to be returned or sent out
- Rotates stock using First In, First Out rule to help
- Remove, document and package all expired items for shipment or donation
Educational/Training Requirements
Must have High School Diploma or GED
Licensing Requirements
Must have a valid Certified Nurse Aide license
Experience Requirements
- Previous inventory control experience preferred
- Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
- Computer experience to include the use of an Electronic Inventory System
