Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following :
Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.
Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Performs quality control testing.
Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.
Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.

Qualifications
Minimum EducationBachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology and ASCP certification by a CLIA approved credentialing organization ORBS equivalency by passing a certification exam given by a CLIA approved credentialing organization MT(ASCP), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), MT(AMT), MLS(AMT) : □ Preferred, X Required Required Licenses[Tennessee, United States] Clinical Laboratory Personnel Technologist
MT (ASCP) certification OR equivalent MT / MLS (AMT) OR State of Tennessee Medical Technologist license OR Medical Technologist- General Supervisor : □ Preferred X Required Required SkillsCertifications : The below certifications will be required within 60 days of hire : X Basic Life Support (BLS)
