Job Summary:
Starr Resiliency Agency is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Summer School Enrichment Teacher to lead engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students in grades Pre-K-12. The ideal candidate will design and implement dynamic enrichment activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. This is an excellent opportunity for educators who enjoy fostering a love of learning through interactive and project-based experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver interactive and engaging enrichment lessons in subjects such as Literacy, Math or other specialized topics.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and styles.
- Use hands-on and experiential learning techniques to enhance student engagement.
- Maintain a structured yet fun and exploratory atmosphere.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents when necessary.
- Ensure student safety and classroom management following agency policies.
- Collaborate with other teachers and program staff to coordinate activities and resources.
Qualifications:
- Pass state (TX) and federal background checks
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (or currently pursuing a degree in Education preferred).
- Valid teaching certification (preferred but not always required).
- Previous experience working with children in a classroom, camp, or enrichment setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a positive learning environment.
- Passion for hands-on, inquiry-based learning and student engagement.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
Schedule & Compensation:
- [4 1/2 work hours, Mon-Thurs except holidays]
- [22.50 per hour]
