About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Director of Compliance to join our dynamic team and ensure our operations meet legal and internal policy standards while safeguarding the company’s integrity. As the Director, you will play a key role in conducting risk-based internal audits, developing compliance best practices, and ensuring that policies, controls, and procedures are consistently followed across the organization.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead Risk-Based Audits: Develop and execute an internal audit plan, conducting risk assessments and audits across the company to ensure compliance with both internal policies and legal standards.
- Risk Identification & Mitigation: Identify potential compliance risks, develop corrective action plans, and guide the organization on best practices to mitigate future compliance challenges.
- Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with senior leadership, including the General Counsel, CFO, and HR Director, to develop and enforce company policies and compliance standards.
- Audit and Compliance Reporting: Provide timely reports to senior management on audit findings, and communicate identified issues with practical, actionable recommendations.
- Training & Development: Design and deliver compliance-related training to staff, ensuring continuous awareness and adherence to company policies and legal guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Review, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of internal controls and procedures across the organization to address hidden risks or non-conformity.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, or a related field, with a strong background in leadership and team management.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with restaurant operations, financial systems, labor management, and hospitality regulations, a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of POS systems (e.g., Toast), revenue and labor reporting systems (e.g., Avero, Ctuit), payroll systems (e.g., ADP), and accounting software (e.g., Great Plains).
- Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of labor and employment laws, particularly in the hospitality industry.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data, identify risks, and develop clear, actionable solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present audit findings, policies, and procedures to all levels of the organization.
- Proactive & Solution-Oriented: Ability to anticipate compliance challenges and take initiative in creating solutions that support the company’s goals.
