PROGRAM: Transitional Youth Services Program
DEPARTMENT: Youth Empowerment Services
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
STATUS: Full-time hours per week, Evening & Weekend Hours (hours may vary), 100% in office
SALARY: $22-$26

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
StarVista’s Transitional Youth Services, THP-Plus Program is a residential program for youth ages 18-24 who have exited the Foster Care and/or Juvenile Justice system. The goal of the program is to appropriately prepare the youth for independent living and self-sufficiency. The program provides case management, advocacy/support, and independent living skills education to residents.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide on-site, overnight checks and monitoring of youth residents at the residential site in South San Francisco to ensure safety. Checks/monitoring include apartment inspection, adherence to curfew times, and observance of the agreed-upon program policies.
- Report any violations of THP-Plus Program policies to Program Manager and/or Site Coordinator.
- Complete appropriate and required program documentation.
- Encourage and reinforce independent living skills and provide support around transitioning to independent living, achieving individual goals, and planning for the future.
- Manage crises or emergency situations as they arise and follow program protocol.
- Attend required training and team meetings.
- Provide support to Program Manager and Site Coordinator as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with youth in Foster Care
- Ability to pass fingerprint and TB clearance is required.
- 2 years of verifiable experience working with at-risk youth and/or young adults
