Stasmayer is looking for someone to join our team as a Purchasing Agent to contribute to the success of our organization by ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement practices, maintaining strong vendor relationships, optimizing the supply chain, and minimizing loss and billing inaccuracies.
Overview:
As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services needed by the organization. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, maintaining positive relationships with vendors, and prioritizing efforts to minimize loss and billing inaccuracies.

Principle Responsibilities:
- Be part of the team; be process oriented.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and delivery speed to ensure the best value for the organization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing requirements and develop procurement strategies that align with business needs.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, new suppliers, and industry trends while emphasizing measures to minimize loss and billing inaccuracies.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers, striving to obtain favorable pricing and contractual terms while maintaining quality standards and minimizing potential losses.
- Regularly review and assess supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality expectations, and accuracy in billing and invoicing.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with inventory management teams to maintain optimal stock levels, avoiding stockouts or excess inventory that could lead to losses or billing inaccuracies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchasing activities, including supplier information, contracts, pricing, delivery schedules, and billing details.
- Work closely with the finance department to ensure proper budgeting, cost tracking, and accurate billing and payment processes to minimize billing inaccuracies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to purchasing and procurement, recommending process improvements and cost-saving measures that also address loss prevention and billing accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
Relevant Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM) are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role, preferably in a corporate setting.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, contract negotiation, and purchasing best practices.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier capabilities, assess pricing models, and analyze market trends with a focus on minimizing loss and billing inaccuracies.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
