The duties and responsibilities of the Accounting department at STAT are crucial to the company's adherence to financial regulations, operational efficiency, and overall financial health. Therefore, the Accountant is expected to perform the following.
Essential Functions per Policies & Procedures:
· Act as the liaison between the accounting and operations departments.
· Maintain the company’s Work In Progress (WIP) schedule.
· Prepare various management reports and other analyses as needed.
· Analyze revenue and job costing to ensure job profitability remains on track with job estimates.
· Assist the Controller with month-end and year-end close activities.
· Prepare routine journal entries.
· Assist with various schedules, including but not limited to STAT’s depreciation, prepaid expenses, prepaid insurance, and WIP.
· Manage and track the company’s fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
Marginal Functions:
· Support other accounting and financial tasks as assigned by the Controller or management.
· Assist Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), if necessary.
· Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
· Work closely with other departments to gather necessary information for financial reporting and to support their financial needs.
· Provide training and support to other team members on accounting procedures and software as needed.
Goals:
1.) Ensure Accurate and timely financial reporting.
2.) Maintain accurate records and documentation.
3.) Support efficient financial processes to enhance company operations.
Working Conditions:
· Full time position
· In office Monday -Friday from 7:00 am-4:00pm with 1 hour lunch.
· Occasional weekends and holidays as required to meet deadlines.
· Works in office and field environments depending on assign job tasks.
· May be required to perform work at alternate locations.
Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience Requirements:
· Two to three years of previous experience in accounting or a related field is highly desirable.
· Familiarity with accounting principles and procedures.
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Requirements:
· Experience in job costing and financial analysis.
· Previous experience in accounting roles within the waste management or related sectors.
· Familiarity with Work In Progress (WIP) scheduling and management.

Required Physical Activity:

· This position is classified as light duty work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (constant activity or conditions that exist 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
· Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Even though the weight lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job should be rated light duty when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls.
