Under minimal direction of an Air Resources Supervisor I, the successful candidate will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert to develop, analyze, and write regulatory policy to amend the off-road new compresion-ignition standards (Tier 5) including the proposed elements and the spark-ignition marine engine amendments to advance the California Air Resources Board's (CARB) mission of protecting public health and the environment.
Duties could include, but are not limited to reviewing scientific and technical literature; analyzing operations, cost, and emission data; managing and overseeing test programs, studies, and surveys; developing regulatory concepts and working with management to evaluate such concepts; generating a variety of reports, briefing papers, speeches, email and letter responses, and presentations; making recommendations based on thorough analysis of relevant technical, economic, and policy-based information; and following regulatory proposals through the public Board hearing process, meeting and corresponding regularly with industry stakeholders, trade associations, environmental groups, other governmental agencies, and the public.
