POSITION OVERVIEW
The State Bar of New Mexico (SBNM) is a professional organization of attorneys licensed to practice law in New Mexico. The mission of the State Bar is to be a united and inclusive organization serving the legal profession and the public.
The SBNM seeks a qualified applicant to join our team as a full-time (40 hours/week) IT/AV Support Specialist. The successful incumbent will work closely with the IT Director and IT Services Manager to ensure the smooth operation of audiovisual (AV) systems, phone systems, and IT support services. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting AV equipment, coordinating room rental needs, managing phone system support, and providing frontline technical assistance to staff, renters, and members. Additionally, this role will oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment for on-site and off-site events, including live streaming services. The hourly rate for this position is $20-$22, depending on experience and qualifications. Generous benefits package included. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Set up, operate, and troubleshoot A/V equipment for in-house and external events, including live streaming.
· Provide A/V support for off-site events as needed.
· Maintain and document A/V equipment inventory, ensuring all systems are up to date.
· Provide technical support for room rental clients to ensure seamless A/V functionality.
· Manage phone system setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and user assistance.
· Generate reports on A/V system usage, IT support activities, and phone system performance.
· Collaborate with IT leadership to optimize A/V and phone system performance.
· Assist with basic IT troubleshooting (hardware, software, phone issues, and password resets), escalating complex issues as needed.
· Train staff and clients on A/V and phone system usage.
· Ensure compliance with A/V and IT security policies and best practices.
· Assist with IT supply inventory management, including workstation equipment, paper supplies, ink/toner, and other consumables.
· Support special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent certification and 2 or more years relevant experience (AV, IT, and phone system support).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Basic understanding of IT support, including hardware, software, networking, and phone systems.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written, for dealing with members of the public, staff and attorneys.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
· Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
· Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
· Ability to determine priorities and advise supervisors when conflicts in priorities exist.
· Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure in stressful situations.
· Manual dexterity to handle AV, IT, and phone system equipment.
· Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones.
· Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to lift a 50-pound weight and carry it 100 yards (for example moving computer equipment).
· Ability to stand or sit for long periods during events.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
· Employees must be United States Citizens or eligible to work in the United States.
· Employment with the State Bar is on an “at-will” basis.

· In- person presence at the Bar Center is required for events and support tasks. This position may occasionally qualify for telecommuting at the discretion of the IT Director according to business needs. Partial telecommuting may not be available at all times during the year.
