State Bar of Wisconsin is seeking a HR and Payroll Coordinator (30 hours per week, hybrid, benefits eligible)

The State Bar of Wisconsin is a professional association, created by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, for all attorneys who hold a Wisconsin law license. With more than 25,000 members, the State Bar exists to serve its members and the public by promoting the law and access to justice. We aid the courts in improving the administration of justice, provide continuing legal education and other services for our members, support the education of law students, and educate the public about the legal system. - You will work hand-in-hand with the Chief HR Officer and have the opportunity learn and grow in the HR, Payroll, and Benefits fields with the chance to be creative, make improvements, and collaborate with other departments.
What You Will Do
- Support human resources functions including payroll, benefit administration, employee records, applicant tracking, recruitment, and new hire orientation.
- Lead the processing of the bi-weekly payroll including the annual ACA reporting and W-2 production.
- Performs administrative functions for the benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Lead the annual open enrollment prep, submission of the benefit census documents, and assist with the annual 401k audit
- Maintain the employee database to ensure accurate records and timely updates. Complete reference requests, employment verifications, and unemployment insurance verifications.
- Coordinate and assist with company events and the annual giving campaign.
- Develop communications for employees via email, intranet, and the weekly employee newsletter.
- Assist with gathering and tracking data for HR metrics and employee feedback through pulse surveys, exit interviews and engagement surveys.
- Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance.
- Plan and coordinate meeting calendars; schedule meetings, prepare agendas and presentations, assist in preparation and distribution of reports and materials, take/transcribe minutes as needed, etc.
- Provide administrative support for various member entities, including strategic planning, finance, and audit committees. Ensure timely distribution and receipt of reports and other documents.
- Provide administrative support for Organizational Change Team and Wellness Committee meetings
- Provide back-up support for the Receptionist and Executive Coordinator.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of administrative experience, including payroll experience. HR, benefits, and Paylocity experience is highly preferred. Prefer 2-year degree.
- Proficient in MSOffice and Adobe. ATS experience preferred.
- High attention to details and quality
- Proven ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines

Compensation and Benefits
The wage range for this position starts at $25.66 per hour. This position will work 30 hours per week and is eligible for benefits. The State Bar of Wisconsin offers competitive compensation with annual merit increases and excellent benefits including:
