Please note that this position is for a Staff Services Manager I Specialist role and not a Supervisory role.
The Governance, Compliance, and Privacy Office (GCP) has an immediate opening for a Special Projects Manager. The Special Projects Manager will report to the GCP Program Manager but will receive general direction of the Internal Affairs Senior Leadership team and the Chief of Internal Affairs. The incumbent will provide support to the executive and senior leadership members and manage one or more medium to large projects including the more complex projects that are critical for meeting the program’s enterprise and operational goals. This project manager will be responsible to ensure that project deliverables (product, service, program solution) are successfully delivered on schedule, and within scope as well as provide project leadership (plan, set project scope, organize, and secure project resources) and coordinate the work for project team members.

Desired working knowledge of:
  • Workers' Compensation Insurance processes
  • Project management principles
  • Time management techniques to oversee efficient prioritization and completion of work unit tasks for staff and self
  • The State Fund organization, Regional Office and Corporate functions, and business policies and practices
  • Corporate governance, compliance, and privacy processes and best practices
  • Various State Fund functions as they impact Internal Affairs
  • State Fund standard software applications
  • Team-building and team-leading skills

New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement to an alternate salary range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
