Duties Description Log and Monitor Requests for Back Salary Awards, Overpayment Appeals, and Retroactive Transactions Over a Year in the Earnings Section. • Upon receipt of a request to process a back salary award, an overpayment appeal, or a transaction that is retroactive for a period of more than one year, enter the applicable information in the appropriate database. • Contact the requestor to obtain any information missing from the request. • Track the progress of the request and update the database as needed. • Respond to inquiries from the requestor and management regarding the status of the request. • Ensure all payroll transactions have been submitted to close out the request.Review Calculations and Correspondence Related to Overpayment Appeals and Retroactive Transactions Over a Year in the Earnings Section.• Using applicable laws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures, calculate the value of the overpayment associated with an overpayment appeal or a transaction that is retroactive for a period of more than one year to ensure the agency has provided accurate information. • Contact the requestor to resolve any discrepancies. • Review correspondence provided to employees who have filed an overpayment appeal to ensure all information is accurate.Review Earnings Section Audit Query Results• Using applicable laws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures, review audit query results to ensure the agency has provided all applicable documentation related to the submitted transaction. • Ensure provided documentation supports the submitted transaction. • Contact agency if documentation is missing or additional information is required.Assist with Compiling Procedures and Training Materials in the Earnings Section. • Work with subject matter experts to update payroll procedures and training materials. • Develop a mechanism to track procedures and training materials to ensure the most recent version is being utilized.
