We are currently seeking a highly motivated, outgoing, friendly and service-oriented individual with excellent sales and service skills to fill the role of Consumer Lending Specialist. The ideal candidate will have the ability work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced call center environment and assist members with their home equity and consumer loan applications; process, disburse and post-close loans while ensuring that the members experience is exceptional. The Consumer Lending Specialist is required to abide by government regulations, Freddie Mac’s Sellers and Services Guide, Loan Approval Guidelines, Credit Insurance Manual, Cost & Address Guide for Lender's Services, and SDFCU's Code Book, Policy Manual, Staff Manual, Operations Bulletins and Administrative Announcements
Transmits post-closing information and appropriate documents from the completed home equity loan packages to MeridianLink on a daily basis.
Duties include but are not limited to:
•Transmits post-closing information and appropriate documents from the completed home equity loan packages to MeridianLink on a daily basis.
•Funds and disburses home equity loans when assistance is needed from the HE Loan Processor.
•Follows through with closing documents to ensure receipt of recorded documents from the closing agent. Analyzes information and ensures accuracy
•Assists members via email by overseeing the Lending and Home Equity email boxes.
•Tracks all fees paid and incurred in connection with each home equity to accurately reflect items on the settlement statement.
•Reviews post-closing documents for accuracy and completeness within 24 hours of receiving the post-closing file from the closing agent.
•Assists Consumer Loan Processors/Disbursers with sending loan documents to new applicants. Works with non-member applicants on establishing membership.
•Takes incoming calls from members, inputs loan applications and answers member inquiries.
•Makes outbound calls to members in order to follow up and offer additional products and services.
•Trained to back up Consumer Loan Processors/Disbursers that are out of the office.
•May be required to function as a Consumer Loan Processor/Disburser during times of high volume.
•Follows up with findings from quality control audits.
•Makes recommendations of changes to procedures in conjunction with updates to regulations and efficiency of functions performed. Modifies accounts per member request; confirms any changes via email, fax, or phone and notifies by letter.
•Works rotating Saturday schedule and additional hours, including weekends, based on volume. Also works special offsite events.
Min two years’ experience in real estate closing/post-closing preferred.
•Min two years’ experience with consumer loan processing preferred.
•2 year degree or equivalent work experience in related field required.

•Knowledge of Microsoft Products, MeridianLink, and Episys a plus.
