Position Overview
As the Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will monitor, support and regularly keep updated key infrastructure for various applications within SECU IT – Application Development. In this role you will help promote changes developed in lower environments to testing and production environments, all while ensuring stability in all environments with server maintenance and support.
Responsibilities
Closely monitor the IT Service Management System queue for work orders, tasks, and incidents and remediate as per defined SLAs. Monitor critical applications for performance indicators and errors. Anticipates, mitigates and troubleshoots to resolve complex systems integration problems. Escalate most complex issues to senior team members as required.
Perform system maintenance, vulnerability remediation, server builds, and application upgrades across multiple development and production environments.
Maintaining and optimizing the underlying infrastructure that applications run on. Ensure the control, integrity, and accessibility of compute environments for the application through compliance and usage of industry best practices.
Perform advanced system administration, configuration, and remediation in complex, hybrid compute environments.
Share design recommendations and opinions about SECU infrastructure and setup. Provide complex technical support, and explanations to internal and external users.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation including configurations, changes, and application flows using Visio and Lucid to provide diagrams.

Required Knowledge, Abilities, Skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Infrastructure or an additional 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- 5 years of experience in IT, with majority spent in IT Infrastructure and Systems Administration
- Experience with advanced troubleshooting of systems and infrastructure
- Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in Windows and / or Linux operating systems
- Intermediate to advanced administrative tasks on systems and infrastructure
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (assuming if they will be troubleshooting they will be working with others)
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work
