Pos ition Overview :
The Senior z / OS Mainframe Systems Programmer will be responsible for the analysis, development, modification, installation, testing and maintenance of operating systems software. This position supports IBM z / OS and CICS, as well as 3rd party Software. This position will also support storage, security, disaster recovery and mainframe network. This position will be required to provide after hours oncall support. This position also develops and modifies technical documentation.
Responsibilities :External Relationships :
- IBM, Mainline, MacKinney, ALEBRA, BMC – This position would be trouble shooting and opening tickets
- Bachelor's degree in computer science.
- 8-12 years of relevant experience
- Ability to install and customize IBM and third-party software using SMP / E, zOSMF, or vendor specific installation.
- Solid knowledge of mainframe JCL and utilities
- Experience using TSO, ISPF, SDSF, OMEGAMON, IPTRACE, NETSTAT & z / OSMF, RACF commands for managing digital certificates & keyrings, IP Routing, IP subnet structures, VIPA, & DVIPA.
- Working knowledge of z / OS UNIX environment
- Working knowledge of z / OS, CICS, JES2, DB2, REXX, CLIST.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience using GDPS mirroring & associated networking requirements a strong plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 8 years of experience in a related job.
- Candidates can be considered if they live in one of the following states : NC, VA, TN, SC or GA.
