Overview: The Computer and Network Administration Instructor is responsible for designing and instructing courses in the Computer and Network Administration programs within the Computer Information Systems Department and duties as they relate to classroom and achieving program goals at the Sedalia, Missouri Campus. The instructor responsibilities include but not are limited to: establishing and building relationships with industry partners, participating in advisory boards, developing and establishing internship, recruiting efforts, and continuous improvement practices. 

Essential Duties:

· Instruct Computer and Network Administration program students in courses covering, but not limited to, network configuration, cybersecurity, and server management.

· Develop and deliver instructional materials, lesson plans, and hands-on activities to enhance student learning.

· Provide constructive feedback and assessments to students on their skill, projects, and assignments.

· Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.

· Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and advancements in network administration, cybersecurity, cloud computing, etc. to incorporate relevant information into the curriculum.

· Collaborate with other faculty members and department staff to contribute to the continuous improvement of the computer information systems programs.

· Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress ensuring confidentiality of student records.

· Maintain regular availability for student assistance during class/lab time and office hours outside of class/lab time.

· Follow maintenance procedures for program facilities and equipment to meet all applicable state and federal regulatory requirements.

· Prepare and submit reports on program status, student achievements, and other relevant metrics to institutional stakeholders.

· Represent the program at community events, career fairs, and other outreach activities to promote the program and engage with potential students.

· Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college.

Qualifications:

Education:

· Associate's degree in Computer and Network Administration or a highly related degree field is required

Desired Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer and Network Administration or a highly related degree

· Experience in network configuration and management, cybersecurity practices, server administration and cloud computing.

· Experience with network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and various operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.)

· Knowledge of current industry tools and technologies. (Cisco, VMware, AWS, etc.) Preference will be given to candidates with Cisco instructor certification.

· Knowledge of emerging trends and practices in Artificial Intelligence (AI) as it pertains to Computer and Network Administration.

· Instructional experience in computer and network administration in a community college environment.

Skills: Have a working knowledge of computers as a medium to manage and improve instruction. Ability to interact with a broad range of people both on and off campus in a positive manner. Show evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills. Possess an understanding of the range of needs community college students represent. Possess a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college. Willingness to improve instruction through professional development including pedagogy and technology.

Experience:

· A minimum of five (5) years of non-teaching work experience in the IT industry.
