SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible education to more than 5,000 students who range from traditional college-age students to adult learners.
The college offers associate of arts, associate of fine arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skills certificates, and noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Jefferson City, at Whiteman Air Force Base, and online.
Position Purpose: The Instructional Design and Technology Education Coordinator is responsible for androgical and LMS design and training for faculty and coordinating technology training for all faculty and staff.
- Establishes an environment which encourages creative and independent use of instructional and organizational technology throughout the institution.
- Follows copyright laws and college technology guidelines (policies)
- Researches new and emerging technologies and software and hardware solutions, and provide training opportunities for faculty and staff.
- Assists educators in planning for the use and integration of technology in the instructional program.
- Models effective uses of technology for faculty, staff, and students
- Works with the Center for Teaching and learning to design, coordination, and provide technology and andragogy workshops, and research and/or provide individual training opportunities for faculty and staff to ensure the best use of technology and andragogy.
- Participates in faculty meetings and events in order to be familiar with stakeholder needs.
- Develops written best practices and procedures for the use of software and other tools as needed.
- Coordinates with the Associate Dean of The Center for Teaching and Learning and Distance and Online Education, providing support of the LMS software for faculty, including minor troubleshooting.
- Coordinates with and assists the Associate Dean of The Center for Teaching and Learning and Distance and Online Education with the administration and support of the web-conferencing software, including training and minor troubleshooting.
- Confers with administrators, managers, instructors, and staff to determine training needs utilizing the Center for Teaching and Learning.
- Schedules training based on need as well as availability of software, classrooms, and equipment needed coordinating efforts with the Center for Teaching and Learning.
- Manages and updates the Center for Teaching and Learning’s PD calendar.
- Provides instructors with strategies of how technology can be used to achieve instructional goals
- Works cooperatively with the Instructional Technology Services team.
- Responds to LMS and related software questions through various formats (email, Teams, telephone, etc.)
- Trains and certifies potential faculty to teach online classes for the institution.
- Demonstrates significant knowledge of online, quality course design standards, and best practices.
- Design, develop, convert, review and renew online courses utilizing current quality course design best practices.
- Regularly review and evaluate courses to ensure quality and effectiveness.
- Guide and track multiple projects to successful completion simultaneously.
- Interact with faculty and staff to ensure courses meet quality requirements.
- Research instructional best-practices and emerging trends to incorporate into course content and design.
- Be an active member of the Learning Management System Committee,
- Be an active member of the Center for Teaching and Learning Committee.
- Be an active member of the Center for Teaching and Learning Advisory Board.
- Be willing to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively, both within the unit, campus wide, and around the state.
- Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college.

Education/Experience:
- Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.
- Education and training in Instructional Design and in Instructional Technology Preferred.
- At least three years online and 1 or more years of on-ground teaching experience required.
- Prefer experience in educational technology and andragogy training and in instructional design
Physical Requirements:
- Work involves sedentary to light work in an office setting.
- There is frequent sitting, with walking, standing and stooping occasionally required.
- There is an occasional need to lift objects (up to 20 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.

Instructional Design Expertise: A strong foundation in instructional design theories and models
- Course Design Standards: Knowledge of quality course design standards and best practices
- E-Learning Authoring Tools: Knowledge of LMS (Canvas) software and experience with instructional technology and course development
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Banner
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Communicate with diverse audiences, possessive active listening skills for understanding the needs of others, and ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Problem Solving and Critical Thinking: An ability to analyze complex problems and identify innovative solutions, the ability to adapt to changing technology trends and student needs, and the ability to be creative and think outside the box to develop creative and engaging learning experiences.
- Additional Qualities: A passion for learning, great attention to detail, able to manage time and prioritize projects, and an understanding of diverse cultures and backgrounds. A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively

Cost per month to cover family: $54.24 for Plan 1 or $64.48 for Plan 2 coverage.

3. The cost for the basic additional life insurance plan is $1.58 per month for $10,000 spouse coverage and $2,500 dependent child coverage. This is a total monthly cost, regardless of the number of eligible dependents covered.

There is no waiting period for holiday, vacation, and sick time, however; the
employee must have supervisor approval prior to using sick or vacation accruals.
Central Methodist University Tuition Waiver Scholarship: CMU offers a tuition waiver scholarship for undergraduate and graduate tuition charges for FT employees each term for online and on-ground courses held on the SFCC campus.
Spouse and dependent of FT SFCC employee may have undergraduate tuition charges (but not books, fees, or supplies) waived each term while attending CMU at SFCC.
Any spouse (but not dependent) of a FT SFCC employee shall have 50 percent of the graduate tuition charges (not books, fees, or supplies) waived each term while attending CMU at SFCC or online.
Employees may purchase LegalShield, which allows the ability to talk to an attorney on any matter without worrying about the high costs associated with legal counsel. LegalShield can be purchased for $7.48 per pay period for individual and $7.88 to add dependents.
