What are the responsibilities and job description for the TRiO Work Study position at State Fair Community College?
State Fair Community College is an accessible, learning-centered institution, enriching its students and community by providing skills, knowledge and perspectives essential for a changing world.
The Receptionist will be the first line for both phone calls and incoming students with questions. All Receptionists will be expected to understand the application process, and the duties of each department to be able to accurately direct students. Light data entry may be required. Special projects will be assigned by TRiO Director as needed.
The preceding duties have been provided as examples of the essential types of work performed by positions within this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed.
Must be a current State Fair Community College student with preference given to current TRiO students. The candidate must qualify for the federal work-study program. Candidates must possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher and be self-motivated and willing to work with others while maintain a positive attitude. Candidate will possess a working knowledge of computers, excellent oral and written communications skills, demonstrate student centeredness and be able to interact with a broad range of people with diverse backgrounds in a positive manner. Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college.

This position is a part of the Federal work-study program, to qualify you must be a State Fair Community College student enrolled in the current semester and eligible for Financial Aid thorough the Federal Work-study program. Employment will require a criminal background check at College expense.

If you do not qualify for Work Study, this position will be paid with department funds.
Student workers cannot work more than 17 hours a week.
