Responsibilities
Location: This is a teleworker position.
However, selected candidate must live in the following geographic territory: Arlington Heights, Libertyville, Vernon Hills.
As Business Lines Consultant you will drive Business Lines growth by:
- Developing customer-centric solutions to assist agents with profitable growth including new business production and gain goals within assigned area.
- Serving as a consultant and resource to agents, Agency Leadership and Underwriting on all risk characteristics and underwriting philosophies, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrating expert knowledge in the features and benefits of all products offered and make recommendations to best meet customers' needs.
- Consulting on agent engagement, highly responsive service, results analysis, and recommending marketing/acquisition/retention strategies to help create demand for business lines products.
- Making independent decisions regarding underwriting acceptability by evaluating risks, which may include conducting consultations of existing/potential accounts.
- Collecting and analyzing market data to formulate strategies in assigned territory/market area to support agents in effectively competing in the business owner market.
- Developing and executing a comprehensive territory plan
- Consulting on and participating in appointments to model and coach customer-focused marketing/sales practices
- Utilizing the available reporting tools, technology and resources
- Participating in appointments to model and coach to customer-focused, needs-based goal-oriented conversations
Qualifications
Each opening may require specific background, experiences, and skill-sets depending upon the needs of the territory. Competitive candidates will have the following:
- Business Underwriting and/or Business Auto experience preferred.
- Marketing/Sales background preferred.
- Mobility preferred.
- Your position as an RC4 Business Lines Consultant will require completion of the state Property and Casualty Licensing. Continued employment in the BLC role will be contingent upon meeting the licensing requirements within 12 months or 3 attempts within 12 months of your start date as a RC4 Business Lines Consultant.
- Job may require overnight travel via commercial transportation, driving motor vehicles, or both to attend training programs and to visit State Farm Offices, Agents and policyholders.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license to lawfully operate vehicles as directed or requested by State Farm.
- Will require virtual territory management including activities like education, analysis and marketing /prospecting activities.
- Job may require flexibility in adapting to the schedules of business customers and Agents.
- Will be assigned a territory(s) to execute Business Lines job responsibilities.
- Strong Industry knowledge is beneficial
- Ability to influence others.
- Strong relationship building skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to break down complex problems into simple terms.
- Local network or personal knowledge of a geographic location beneficial in certain markets.
- Strong initiative with proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Bachelor’s Degree is desired
- This is a mobile worker position. Must be available for regular travel outside of assigned market area.
- Incumbency of 24 months prior to being able to post for other opportunities, lateral or promotion.
- Position may require walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crawling, and /or lifting objects.
